Looking for advice and help

Hi everyone here on xcite i am looking to pick someones brain. I have managed to send a book to a publisher but have been told my work needs polishing so have been advised to find editor/critique for help. I have searched endless amounts of hours for this help and have no idea which way to go, could anyone offer me some adive or anyone know of someones who could help me????

Hi Holly,

You could try Hilary Johnson Author's Advisory Service. I've never used her myself (my nascent writing career has not reached that stage yet!) but she comes highly recommended. From what I can recall, she prefers a phone call (or e-mail) for an exploratory discussion rather than just being sent a manuscript!

Another option is to buy a copy of "Writing Magazine" published monthly by Warners Group - and available at all good WHSmiths. This is an excellent magazine for budding authors, packed with tips and advice, but it also includes a classifieds page with adverts from companies offering the kind of services you are looking for.
